Snow, Snow, and Snow

There are certainly a million toys that light up, play music, dance, flash, and do a million other clever things to try to capture the attention of young kids.  But, as with every kid, there is a certain fascination with the basics.  In Corwin's case, an everyday bowl makes a great hard hat, or in this case it looks more like a military helmet.  I'm sure we've all gone through phases of deciding to wear different kitchen accessories as a fashion statement.  Other than his love of bowls, Corwin has been progressing very quickly with his sign language.  He picks up each sign fast, and applies it shortly after he's taught.  Other than that, he's been working on his dancing (basically it appears as a form of River Dance), and also on his running.  And to my great pleasure, he is actually very skilled at dribbling the soccer ball around the house with his feet.  I'll have to include some video at some point, it really is very impressive.

It's been a snowy February.  Last weekend we had a sneak-attack from about a foot of snow.  Sydney decided that was the perfect time to make a snowman.  Karen had to help...her engineering degree helped to ensure the structural integrity of the snowman was up to code.  Since I was getting over a cold and Corwin would barely stand above snow-level, we decided to monitor the snowman activity from inside.  The snow almost melted during the week, but we received another snow flurry yesterday, which happened to be around my soccer game time.  No snow was on the pitch when we started, but it picked up quite a bit and the field was covered by then end.

It's been a very busy 2014.  We decided to sell our house this year, so the past few months have been all about projects and getting our house ready to put on the market.  This is my primary excuse, although I can make up a bunch of other ones, for neglecting this blog.  I know the three people that read this have been extremely disappointed, but hopefully I'll be able to find more time now that our house is ready for some lucky person to purchase!  Until then...

Have a great weekend!!!
